Make sure your contractor measures up!
1. Hire only licensed contractors...search for a contractor.
2. Check the contractors license number through the CSLB.
3. Get three references, review past work.
4. Obtain a written contract and don't sign anything until you completely understand the terms.
5. Pay 10% down, or $1000 which ever is less.
6. Don't let payments get ahead of work.
7. Keep records of all payments.
8. Do not pay in cash.
9. Keep a job file of all papers related to your project.
10. Is your contractor Insured?
